Abigail Shapiro is a conservative influencer and sister of political commentator Ben Shapiro. After a video of Shapiro singing circulated on 4chan’s /pol/ forum in October 2017, she became the subject of anti-Semitic rhetoric and salacious posts, with users posting on 4chan, 8chan and iFunny memes and fan groups.
On January 31 and February 25, 2014, Abigail Shapiro’s father, David Shapiro, uploaded two YouTube[1][2] operatic arias “Hi! Oh, Margery It’s you” and “Goodbye, Mrs. Arabe” videos (shown below, left and right).
Shapiro did not receive any online recognition until October 25, 2017, when an anonymous user posted a post on 4chan’s /pol/[3] forum emphasizing her charisma (see above, below). In the same thread, some /pol/ users expressed their attraction to Shapiro, posted salacious anti-Semitic comments, and tagged Shapiro’s breasts as a “Khazarian milker” (example below ).
On January 31, 2019, Abigail Shapiro opened social media accounts as Classically Abby on Facebook,[5]Twitter,[6]Instagram[7] and YouTube[8] to post makeup , fashion and lifestyle videos. Within a year, she had amassed more than 21,100 followers on Twitter, 9,500 on YouTube and 7,500 on Instagram. On April 17, 2020, Shapiro posted a video titled “Why You Should Dress Right || Get the Attention You Deserve,” urging women not to wear revealing clothing (see below). In five months, the video had more than 1.2 million views, 132,000 dislikes and 19,000 likes.
On August 5, 2020, YouTuber Vaush uploaded a video complaining about ads promoting Shapiro’s channel, titled “Please stop showing me Abigail Shapiro ads, I don’t care” (see below). In five days, the video had more than 187,000 views and 2,600 comments.
On January 14, 2021, Shapiro posted an Instagram story about her undergoing surgery, using the hashtag #breasthealthawareness,[11] leading some users to believe that Shapiro was undergoing breast reduction surgery. In an Instagram post[12] on January 15, Shapiro clarified that she had a lump removed from her breast surgically.
