Andrew Dawson (born March 12, 1980 in Los Angeles, California) is an American record producer, engineer, mixer and songwriter. Dawson is a three-time Grammy Award winner and six Grammy-nominated for his roles as engineer and mixer on Kanye West’s Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007) and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010). The work won the Best Rap Album category. Dawson was also credited for the extra production of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Dawson then attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts to study music production and engineering. While living in the Boston area, Dawson worked at Lexicon – a company known for making digital reverb units including the 480L. In 2001, Dawson moved to New York City, where he worked as an assistant and later as a staff engineer at Sony Music Studios. Due to his passion for music, Dawson prefers to work on important projects and collaborate with artists who are equally passionate about recording.
