Anthony Jesús Vargas Gómez (San Rafael, Heredia, Costa Rica, March 31, 1993), better known as Anthony Vargas (AFI: aN’toni ‘βarγas), is a Costa Rican former soccer player. He is a goalkeeper for Belém Football Club of Costa Rica’s Serie A. He started his sports career in the lower categories of the Bellemita team from an early age until he was promoted to the senior team in 2012. However, he had to retire after four years due to a heart attack.
