Ethan Reyes, also known as Notti Osama, was recently stabbed to death during a brawl in a Manhattan subway station. The incident took place on July 11, and 14-year-old brother DD Osama also paid tribute on social media. Notti Osama was stabbed to death at 3 p.m. on July 9 following an altercation with a 15-year-old opponent at the 137th Street/City College subway station. Osama later died at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital.
The reason for the fight was not disclosed, but apparently there were some issues between the two teenagers, according to law enforcement sources. Police have arrested the defendant, who is charged with first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession.
The 15-year-old was initially charged with second-degree murder. That all changed, however, when prosecutors were told that Reyes cornered the defendant and confronted him with a broom. The defendant was eventually outnumbered by Ethan and his companions, but when he tried to escape, the defendant stabbed him.
Police recovered a knife and a broom at the scene, and the discovery was also recorded on camera.
The defendant’s name is now unknown, but police say he was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital for stab wounds.
