Destiny America Jimenez faces DUI and driving without a license due to the May 13 incident.
When officers arrived on Forsyth Avenue, they found a 2018 Jeep Wrangler and a 15-year-old with life-threatening injuries to the head and chest, an arrest report said.
The 15-year-old who was involved in the crash died at Sunrise Hospital on May 17, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said. The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Anthony de la Torre Lopez of Las Vegas. His death was ruled an accident.
Officers associated with Jimenez at the scene. Jimenez cried and told police the 15-year-old boy used a skateboard to grab the passenger door of the Jeep, the report said. The teenager “falled” off the skateboard and was overturned by the right rear tire.
Jimenez told police she had been drinking and smoking marijuana before the crash, the report said. The LVMPD also noted that Jimenez did not have a driver’s license.
Another witness reportedly told the young man it was not safe to grab a car and skateboard. At the time, Jimenez reportedly offered to drive.
Jimenez’s bail was set at $50,000, according to court documents. If she is released on bail, she will not be allowed to drive, drink or smoke and will be required to undergo a drug screening. Her next hearing is scheduled for May 24.
