In the past year, no brand has undergone such a major facelift as NXT. The black and gold brand was once the wrestling-focused show that WWE had to offer. It stands out from the rest of WWE’s sports entertainment-based programming. Right now, however, NXT is focused on creating memorable and fun moments rather than delivering games for die-hard fans.
Both iterations of NXT had quite a few hits and misses. This list features some of the best and worst of the past five years.
Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly are true friends, traveling the world together in indie sets. The decision to go four-in-one on NXT was a very smart one; it allowed fans to see their chemistry as a tag team partner and laugh at their antics. The Undisputed Times may have been pushed too hard in NXT, but their popularity was (and still is)…no doubt about it.
Karrion Kross could have been great in WWE had they not failed at every level of his presentation. He has good looks and a very nice wife and is an excellent manager. He was an interesting character when he came to NXT, but the appeal disappeared immediately after he won the NXT title.
