Paula Troutman obituary and dead, Fredonia middle school principal 

The Fredonia Central School District is grieving the unexpected passing of Middle School Principal Paula Troutman, who tragically passed away on Monday evening.

In a letter addressed to the Fredonia School Community, Superintendent Brad Zilliox expressed heartfelt condolences, saying, “Our sincere condolences and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Paula.” While aiming for transparency, the district is also respectful of the family’s privacy during this difficult time.

A crisis team has been mobilized to provide support for faculty and staff, with students and families invited to gather at the high school library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday. In addition, the district shared resources from the National Association of School Psychologists on dealing with death and grief.

Superintendent Zilliox acknowledged the challenging period for everyone and emphasized the importance of mutual support in remembering Mrs. Troutman’s outstanding contributions to the district.

Despite the somber news, Fredonia confirms that school will resume as scheduled on Wednesday. The district is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment as the community copes with this unexpected loss.

“I am sorry to be reaching out with some very sad news. Our Middle School Principal, Mrs. Paula Troutman, passed away unexpectedly last evening, January 1st,” expressed Superintendent Zilliox. The district is committed to providing counseling and bereavement support services to help the school community navigate through this challenging time.
