Duffy initiated his football journey with Swansea City, making his debut at the age of 16 in December 2001. He secured a substantial six-figure move to Premier League side Portsmouth in January 2004. His journey continued with Port Vale in July 2012, contributing to the team’s promotion from League Two in the 2012–13 season. After four years with Port Vale, he joined Notts County via Eastleigh in June 2016, and later, in August 2019, he became part of Kidsgrove Athletic.

Retiring from professional play, Duffy ventured into coaching at Congleton Town in May 2020. A year later, he assumed the role of the club’s manager.
