Sajid Khan dead, Known For Mother India Passes Away today

According to Sameer, his father had relocated to Kerala with his second wife. “My father was adopted by Rajkumar Pitamber Rana and Sunita Pitamber and nurtured by filmmaker Mehboob Khan. He took a break from films and was actively involved in philanthropy. He frequently visited Kerala and grew fond of it, eventually remarrying and settling down here,” Sameer explained.

Kumkum, the actress known for her role in ‘Mother India,’ has passed away at the age of 86. Condolences were offered by Nassir Khan and Naved Jafri. The actor was laid to rest at the Kayamkulam Town Juma Masjid in the Alappuzha district of Kerala.

After her notable performance in “Mother India,” which received an Oscar nomination, Khan took on the lead role in Mehboob Khan’s “Son of India.” Achieving global stardom as a teen idol in “Maya,” where he portrayed the character Rajji, a local boy befriending Jay North’s character, Khan’s popularity soared. The film’s success led to a series of the same name, further contributing to Khan’s fame.

He also made a guest appearance in an episode of the American TV show “The Big Valley” and served as a guest judge on the music show “It’s Happening.” The actor gained widespread recognition in the Philippines, starring in films such as “The Singing Filipina,” “My Funny Girl,” and “The Prince and I” alongside Nora Aunor. Khan also portrayed the role of a dacoit chief in the Merchant-Ivory production “Heat and Dust.”
