MANILA, Philippines – The legendary Samboy Lim, one of the greatest cagers in Philippine history, died on Saturday, his family announced. He is 61 years old.

Lin’s family said in a statement posted on their official Facebook page that Skywalker died peacefully on Saturday.

“Our hearts are broken. Today, December 23, 2023, our beloved Samboy passed away peacefully. A man of faith, extraordinary courage, humility, and grace. He embodied the best in humanity,” the statement said.

He collapsed during a performance and fell into a coma. Lin has been receiving treatment since then.

The statement continued that he was at Medical City with his family during his final moments.

The statement said: “In his final moments at Medical City he was survived by Lelan, Jamie, Johannes, sister Malu, nephew AP, Albie and his wife Kate, and best friend Alan Keady Gram and Robert Evangelista for their wonderful care.”
