Santilata Barik dead, Eminent Bhajan Singer passed away

Popular Odia bhajan singer Santilata Barik Chhotray is admitted to a private hospital here. She is undergoing cancer treatment.

Information shows that Santilata is in critical condition and currently relies on ventilator support.

Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia bhajan singer Santilata Barik Chhotray is said to be feeling unwell. She has been admitted to a private hospital in Bubakhshwar for treatment, sources said on Friday.

Santilata Barik, who carved a special place for herself in the Odia spiritual music world, was suffering from health complications and was critically ill. She is reportedly on a ventilator.

She is well known among music lovers across the state and has lent her voice to various Odia bhajan songs including “Jagannath tume bada chhalia”, “Thaka Mana Chala Jiba”, “Mun je Deula Bedha” and Kaaliare.

The legendary singer is a household name across the state and has more than 2,000 devotional songs to his credit. Most of her bhajans and devotional songs were dedicated to Lord Jagannath.
