On Wednesday, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) provincial secretary Malefane Bosanku Msimanga and African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) regional president Edgar Legoale condemned the nude photos The “insensitive” spread of the nude photos appeared to be pictures of the Liberal State’s spokesman for the Legislative Branch.
Her photo has allegedly been shared on social media. “We condemn this act, whoever is the victim of this cowardly, barbaric and despicable act.
What we are seeing is the systematic extortion and silence of the victim, as well as the arming of her body by spreading unwelcome and compromising images,” Msimanga said. The province’s EFF considers the incident a criminal act against human rights violations.
The party said those responsible for distributing the images should be arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to at least 15 years in prison. “This can only be done by a mentally twisted and sick person who has lost the intimacy and respect for the female body that human civilization considers sacred.”
Msimanga pointed out that this happens not only to well-known women, but also to women and girls around the world. He believes that such behaviour undermines efforts and struggles against gender-based violence, misogyny and femicide. “This happens to schoolgirls and women, and nude photos are viciously circulated in cyberspace as retaliation or blackmail against older women,” Msimanga said.
EFF advises victims to never give in or give in to the events and actions of inhumane “animal people”.
“We stand firmly behind her and can assure her of our unconditional moral support. She is not alone; we stand by her.”
Msimanga encourages anyone with information about the person behind the distribution of these images to report it to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
“He is either a brother, or a son, or a husband, or someone’s uncle. We urge anyone who may know this person to come forward and report this brutality to the police.”
Meanwhile, ANCYL Fezile Dabi district chairman Edgar Legoale has spoken out on the matter, condemning the incident and the actions of those responsible.
“Women are being killed and harassed every day and we’re pretty sure that the sheer volume of images and videos today is entrusting to the Free State Legislature Speaker Cde Zanele to keep their secret lives a secret and he decided to walk around and share it, comrades Make fun of it! Comrades, this is wrong and must be condemned,” Legoale said.
